Policies and Procedures
Registration
Fee: There
is an annual registration fee of $20 per dancer / $30 per family.
Payment
of Fees: If
payment is not received by or on the 1st of the month the child will
not partake in classroom activities. Also a late fee of $5.00 per day will be
added.
Injuries: Students,
parents, legal guardians of minor students, as well as adult students, waive
the right to any legal action for any injury sustained before during and after
class time.
Weather
Closing: Dance
Elite will be closed if the Sturgis, Piedmont, Summerset, Black Hawk, and the
Rapid City school systems are closed due to bad weather.
Class
Attendance: Students
will be able to make up any missed classes even if it is on a different day or
time. Students are registered for a place in the class, not for how many
classes they attend.
Holidays:
Labor Day - Monday, September 6th
American Indian Day/Columbus Day - Monday, October 11th
Veterans' Day - Thursday, November 11th
Thanksgiving Break - Wednesday-Saturday, November 24th-27th
Christmas Break - Thursday, December 23rd - Saturday, January 1st
Martin Luther King Day - Monday, January 17th
Presidents Day - Monday, February 21st
Spring Break - Friday-Monday, April 22nd-25th
Class
Placement: Parents
and students abide by the decision of placement made by the artistic director.
Dress Code:
PRESCHOOL/KINDERBALLET
The uniform for students in Preschool and kinder ballet is a
pale pink leotard, pale pink ankle socks or tights, and pale pink flat ballet
shoes. Hair should be neatly tied back in a bun or pony tail.
ELEMENTARY/PRE-INTERMEDIATE/INTERMEDIATE
The uniform for students in Elementary, Pre-Intermediate,
and Intermediate is a black leotard (any style), pink tights, and pale pink
ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back off the face in a high bun – NO
PONYTAILS!
ADVANCED STUDENTS
The uniform for students in advanced classes is any colored
leotard, pale pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled back in
a high bun – NO PONYTAILS!
All other classes’ hair must be tied back away from the
face.
End of
the Year Show: Costume
fee slips will be sent home sometime after the Christmas break.
As the date of the Show approaches there will be mandatory additional
rehearsals. It is important that students do not miss class time when learning
their dances. Unexcused absences during this period may be cause for removal
from the show.
Videotaping
and pictures are allowed during dress rehearsal but not during the actual
performance(s).
Expenses to be prepared for: Costumes, Tickets, Pictures, DVD, and T-shirts
Signing this Form will allow Dance Elite to use any photos and
video recordings of students for advertising purposes.
I have read and understand the policies and procedures of
Dance Elite Academy of Performing Arts and agree to abide by them. I also agree
to give Dance Elite a one month written notice to discontinue the previously
agreed to changes for classes.
